MediChip®

BioSapien developed MediChip™, a novel means of embedding a biodegradable mesh to deliver any type of drug to the body. MediChip™ delivers therapies that would previously impact the entire body and isolates the area of effect. The MediChip® has many applications; in the case of colorectal cancer, MediChip™ is applied directly to the site of the tumor and dissolves over a period months while administering consistent doses of chemotherapy. MediChip™ can administer any type of drug for a more efficient form of treatment. Our research has shown MediChip™ greatly reduces side-effects and complications that occur when therapies target entire systems of the body.

The proposed goal of our MediChip™ platform technology is to release one or more drug directly to the tumor site, thereby increasing efficacy while decreasing toxicity. The MediChip technology is uniquely capable of sustained delivery of small molecules (oncological, opioids, anti-inflammatory, hormones) and affixable to delicate and complex anatomy
